Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic to join our Primary Care Team at HMP Altcourse, a Category B prison in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool. You will be an integral part of the healthcare team, developing and leading clinics, undertaking examinations and tests, and attending emergency bells – often being the first to respond. Your role will focus on delivering a nurse‑led service and preventing hospital admissions through a multi‑disciplinary team approach.

Salary and hours

Salary: £43,609 – £49,174 per year, depending on experience (full‑time).

Hours: 37.5 hours per shift basis – 7 am–8 pm, 8 am–9 pm, 9 am–10 pm, 7:45 pm–7:15 am. Rota basis covering weekends on rotation and nights as required to cover staff leave and sickness.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Qualified Paramedic

  • Experience in Accident & Emergency, Primary Care or Minor injuries/illness environments

Desirable:

  • Experience in hospital, community or prison environment.
