The role

Your role will be vital in ensuring that our affordable housing customers have a seamless experience during their property purchase from SNG Homes.

With full training / on‑boarding provided, we will empower you with the training and knowledge you'll need to succeed in the role.

The role focuses on assisting Legal Advisers with the sale/disposal of Shared Ownership properties, private sales of new build properties on new build development schemes, residential property disposals and disposals of other property types.

Your main duties will include:

  • Primary responsibility for administrative activities relating to conveyancing transactions, project driven activities and general administration.
  • Assisting with the preparation and issuing documents from precedent formats such as contracts, transfers and shared ownership leases on new sales.
  • Liaising with third parties such as buyers' solicitors and estate agents in order to progress sale transactions.
  • Obtaining updates on transactions and feeding these back to our Sales and Development Teams.
  • Preparing completion statements.
  • Assisting with approving mortgages to ensure these are in a format acceptable to Sovereign Network Group.
  • Dealing with or referring enquiries to Senior members of the team for comment including requisitions.
  • Assisting the other members of the team with ad hoc tasks and supporting Sovereign Network Group's wider Legal team where required.
What we're looking for

Our ideal candidate will have either recently gained a law degree or had some legal work experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained from general employment. You'll also need:

  • High attention to detail with the ability to work flexibly to deliver our service.

The successful candidate will receive full onboarding/training tailored towards the role itself to equip you with the knowledge you need. The following qualities are therefore desirable, but not essential:

  • Experience of working within a business, law firm, in‑house legal department, housing association or local authority and managing own workload and preferably having worked on legal cases.
  • Experience in a similar role, or in legal matters relating to general residential conveyancing.
  • An understanding of the key milestones within a property sale transaction.
  • Experience using a case management system to implement and review data.
