What you’ll gain:

The Fine Print

We're creating two Steering Boards:

  • 13-18s
  • 19-30s

Both groups will help develop and co-create the event programme across the borough, gaining valuable experience, skills, and industry connections.

We understand that some young people currently have fewer routes into a creative career. Everyone living or going to school in Royal Borough of Greenwich is welcome to apply but we will especially welcome applications from people who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • You currently are in or have been in care
  • You receive free school meals
  • You live in a household that receives benefits for living costs, including Universal Credit; Child Tax Credit; Free School Meals; Housing Benefit; Income Support; Income-based Job Seekers Allowance.
  • You identify as being disabled
  • You identify as global majority

Steering Board members under 18 will be paid at the UK Minimum Wage rate (currently £7.55 per hour). Steering Board members over 18 will be paid at the London Living Wage rate (currently £14.80 per hour). The total number of paid hours for the 13-18 group will be 20 hours and 32 hours for the 19-30 group.

19-30 Steering Board members will need to be available to attend the following sessions:
  • Tuesday 9 December 1-5pm
  • Tuesday 16 December 1-5pm
  • Tuesday 13 January 1-5pm
  • Tuesday 20 January 1-5pm
  • Tuesday 17 February 1-5pm
  • Tuesday 24 February 1-5pm
  • Tuesday 3 March 1-5pm
  • Tuesday 10 March 1-5pm

In addition:

19-30 Steering Board members will also be offered a minimum of 5 days' work experience each with some amazing cultural organisations, across weeks commencing 26 January, 2 February, and 9 February. We’ll be flexible to fit around your work/study commitments.

In February 2026, 19-30 Steering Board members will also be invited to apply for 4 x paid roles as Emerging Producers helping to deliver the programme’s festivals and events.

If you’re shortlisted, group interviews will take place during the weeks commencing 1 December for the steering board sessions to start week commencing 8 December.
