Paediatric Undergraduate Teaching Fellow

Undergraduate Teaching Fellow, Whittington Health and Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health 2026

(0.7 whole time equivalent)

This post is a part-time teaching fellow post based at Whittington Health. It provides an exciting opportunity for a trainee who wishes to take some time out of full-time clinical training to develop themselves as an educator. We invite applications from those with a strong teaching interest in any area of paediatrics and child health.

This is a 1-year post that includes both clinical and teaching responsibilities, with support for both research and to complete a formal postgraduate certificate in Medical Education if desired. The appointee will be encouraged to make use of the research and clinical training resources within the Whittington and its clinical networks, plus UCL-associated paediatric and child health academic and service units including the Institute of Child Health and Great Ormond Street Hospital. The appointee will spend 70% of their time in teaching and research and 30% in clinical training.

The post holder may choose to do out of-hours work alongside this post, although this is not compulsory.

Lead the Intercalated BSc (iBSc) in Paediatrics and Child Health

The iBSc in Paediatrics and Child Health at GOS ICH is one of the most popular intercalated programmes at UCL Medical School. The Teaching Fellow plays a key role in its delivery, with responsibilities that may include:

• Contributing to curriculum design and refinement
• Setting and marking assessments
• Designing and delivering teaching sessions
• Developing and adapting learning objectives
• Providing academic support to the student cohort
