Overview

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated support workers to join our team and provide tailored support to our new client in Bromley. The role involves delivering personalized care and support to a 5-year-old boy with complex medical needs, including global developmental delay, dystonia, and neonatal seizures.

Location, Hours and Pay

Location: Bromley

Hours: 8am-8pm, Mon-Fri

Pay: £16.90 per hour weekdays

About the Client

Our client is a 5-year-old boy with global developmental delay, dystonia and neonatal seizures due to complications at birth. His mobility is severely limited, even with the use of assistive technology. He is PEG fed and medicated. The family have a dog, so applicants must be comfortable working with pets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalized care and support to our client
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation
  • Administer medication and monitor health conditions
  • Accompany client in the community
  • Provide emotional support and companionship
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client\'s condition
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role working with paediatric clients is essential
  • Experience with complex needs, including PEG and seizures, desirable, although training can be provided
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Energetic, upbeat, and empathetic nature
  • Awareness of accessibility - knowledge of wheelchair friendly routes, transport and venues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work the specified hours
  • Valid UK driver\'s license
  • DBS check will be paid for
