As a Packaging Engineer here at JLR, you’ll contribute to the development and execution of the logistics packaging strategy for MP&L Operations. You will provide technical support and work towards standardising and improving Packaging both internal and external EMC, through data driven analysis delivering systems and tool which optimises the packaging availability.

• Lead the planning, development and approval of packaging concepts to ensure robust support for Mass Production and alignment with New Model build requirements
• Drive cross functional resolution of complex packaging issues, delivering real time containment, permanent corrective actions, and supplier cost recovery where required
• Manage packaging operations and performance, including pallet repair, packaging provision, metric reporting, and maintenance of accurate container/packaging data systems
• Coordinate with suppliers, internal stakeholders and packaging manufacturers to deliver new and modified packaging, ensuring lessons learned and quality improvements are fully embedded
• Champion continuous improvement and optimisation, developing business cases to secure funding, improving packaging loops, and introducing innovative ways of working and best practice solutions

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience in packaging development and its application within a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in packaging supply chain operations, with an understanding of end to end material flow
• Proficient in business systems and MS Office, with strong general IT capability
• Good understanding of current Business Objectives and Behaviours, and how they translate into day to day delivery
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels both internally and with external partners
