Job Purpose: A kind, patient, and enthusiastic individual is required to support a man with Autism, Asperger's and moderate to severe anxiety in leading an active and fulfilling life.
I enjoy a variety of outdoor and travel-based interests, such as train journeys, canoeing, go-karting, automatic motorcycles and paddle boarding. I also have an inspiring list of goals I would like to achieve, which includes learning to ride an automatic motorcycle, travelling to new places, skiing, going on a barge, camping and taking a hot air balloon ride. One of my longer-term goals is to build meaningful connections with others, and with the right support, I’d like to explore the possibility of finding a companion or partner in the future.
Your role will be to support me to become more independent and spread my wings. This will include assisting me to access the community, building confidence in social settings, and helping me pursue my interest and goals at my own pace.
Previous experience supporting adults with autism is desirable but not essential – a genuine, respectful attitude and a willingness to learn are more important.
If you are someone who values making a difference in another person’s life, and can offer patience, encouragement, and support, we would love to hear from you.
