Job description

A very exciting opportunity has become available for an Optometrist on a full-time, permanent basis with a well-established, family-run independent group of opticians, with a great reputation for quality service.

• Up to £70,000
• Family run independent
• Sociable hours – 9am to 5pm, no bank holidays or Sundays
• MONDAY to FRIDAY
• 35-minute test time

This vacancy would be for an experienced Optometrist to be mobile covering 2 practices in the Exeter/ Taunton area.
They are a large group of Opticians with over 20 practices in their portfolio. In each practice you will be joining a small team and be the sole Optometrist, this Optician are patient led and aim to offer the best customer service possible.

Responsibilities of the Optometrist

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Optometrist – ideally 3 years qualified. What’s important, is your ability to build rapport and converse with patients as pride themselves on excellent customer care.
Looking to do (on average) 10-12 tests per day with 35-minute testing slots (including your own pre-screening) to provide excellent service to your patients, you will be working with all the latest equipment as previously mentioned in a relaxed calm environment surrounded by a close knit friendly team.

Requirements of the Optometrist

• Must be GOC registered
• Open to newly qualified or experienced
• You will be a team player – happy to come out of the test room when needed to dispense and offer advice to patients
• Must be able to drive as this is a mobile role between a few different practices
• A friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.
• A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Optometrist

For your efforts a competitive package is on offer

• Up to £70,000 basic
• 33 days holiday + your birthday off including Bank Holidays (Bank Holidays are closed)
• Sociable hours 9am to 5pm with no Sundays or late nights
• Free parking either at the practice or nearby
• In house CET training
• NO WEEKENDS
• You will also have the opportunity to receive some further training and join a professional team in a fun and relaxed environment.
• Working 9:00-5:00 Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours, no weekends or Bank holidays
