Exciting Opportunity: Domiciliary Optometrist in Doncaster

Salary: Up to £65,000 + Attractive Bonus Structure
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (No evenings or weekends!)

About the Role

As a Domiciliary Optometrist, you’ll visit care homes to provide sight tests and patient care, supported by an experienced dispenser. This role offers clinical freedom and the opportunity to positively impact patients’ lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct sight tests for patients in care homes, following our standard procedures.
• Provide advice on eye health, eyewear, and frame selection.
• Communicate test results and recommendations with patients, care home staff, and family members.
• Maintain and report on equipment functionality.
• Support and supervise a team of optometrists, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Ensure optimal patient care, occasionally managing clinic responsibilities.
• Participate in team meetings to drive improvements and share feedback.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualifications:
— GOC registration and appropriate OPL/Health Board registration.
— At least 1 year of post-qualified experience (domiciliary experience is a plus).
• Skills & Attributes:
— Strong knowledge of NHS and professional compliance.
— Calm under pressure with excellent listening skills.
— Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
— A forward-thinking, open-minded attitude towards change and improvement.
