With a starting salary of £31,444 and no experience needed, a career in rail is one that pays. Whether you’re a school leaver, looking for a career change, or returning to work after some time out, we want to hear from you. No skills or qualifications required, here at Network Rail we’re looking for potential. So, what’s the catch? Well, life trackside is challenging, you need determination, but the rewards are worth it. Our rail operatives work outdoors and around the clock to battle everything from power outage emergencies, repairing storm damaged equipment, fallen trees, overhead power lines, track defects and floods to keep Britain moving.

Based at our Norwich depot, we are currently recruiting across a variety of disciplines.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements or other instructions.
  • Undertake work and associated duties for which you are trained and competent.
  • Undertake work activities as directed, in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all relevant standards.
  • Check that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials under your control are fit for use and are used/stored and disposed of correctly.
  • Contribute to your own development.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Able to work as part of team.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Hold and retain competencies relevant to this post, required by the business need.
  • Ideally hold (or be working towards) an NVQ 1 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need.
Salary and Closing Date

Salary: Starting at £31,444
