Overview

Job Title: Operations Technician

Location: Outskirts of Thetford

Salary: £28,000 – £31,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Available Overtime

Shift Pattern: Double Day Shifts (rotating and staggered)

Summary

We are seeking a practical and safety-conscious Operations Technician to support the day-to-day running of a large process factory near Thetford.

This role is hands-on, focusing on keeping material moving safely through the feed system, carrying out inspections, and providing operational support to the shift teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and continuous running of the raw material feed system.
• Clear blockages in conveyors and hoppers as required.
• Perform first-line checks and routine inspections of plant equipment.
• Assist shift teams with general housekeeping and factory operation.
• Operate the gantry crane as part of daily operations – training will be provided
• Carry out minor first-line maintenance tasks to maintain reliability and minimise downtime.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in an industrial, process, or heavy plant environment is desirable.
• Ability to operate equipment such as gantry cranes, forklifts, or telehandlers preferred (training provided if required).
• Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills.
• Amechanical mindsetwith strong problem-solving ability is preferred.
• Own vehicle is essential due to location
