Overview
We are seeking a proactive and safety-conscious Shift Technician to join our clients dedicated operations team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our state-of-the-art plant. Working from a central control room and out in the field, you will be a key player in ensuring our facility runs at peak performance around the clock.

Pay
Pay rates: £43,000 - £45,000 plus shift allowance and bonus (£50,000 - £52,000 OTE)
Shift Pattern
- This role operates on a 5-week (35-day) rolling shift pattern that offers an excellent work-life balance.
- Shifts are 12 hours long, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for day shifts and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for night shifts.
- The 35-day cycle is as follows:
- Round 1: 2 Days, 2 Nights, 5 Days Off
- Round 2: 2 Days, 3 Nights, 4 Days Off
- Round 3: 3 Days, 2 Nights, 12 Days Off
Key Responsibilities
- Working as part of a close-knit team on a 24-hour shift rotation, your duties will include:
- Operating the plant safely and efficiently via the Distributed Control System and conducting regular field-based checks.
- Implementing plant and equipment process changes to optimise performance.
- Carrying out process and equipment fault diagnosis and rectification to minimise downtime.
- Performing system isolations in line with stringent safety procedures.
- Managing alarms, overseeing the operation of the Energy Recovery Facility, and monitoring boiler chemistry.
- Maintaining a detailed and accurate shift log, documenting all plant changes and significant events.
- Conducting a diligent and comprehensive shift handover to ensure operational continuity.
- Undertaking continuous and routine monitoring of the plant to minimise environmental impacts.

What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrable experience in a mechanical, electrical, or process plant environment.
- A solid understanding of safe systems of work, particularly regarding plant isolations.
- The ability to think logically and apply effective problem-solving skills under pressure.
- A recognised safety qualification, preferably IOSH or NEBOSH.
- A proactive and meticulous approach to operational and safety standards.
- The ability to attain the level of an Authorised Person is also desirable.
