Job summary

A leading childcare organization is seeking an Operations Manager in Milton Keynes. The role requires a strong leader to foster a nurturing environment for vulnerable children in a registered home. Qualifications

Overview

Operations Manager/ Registered Manager – Milton Keynes. We are seeking a Registered Children's Home Manager who wants to move into an operations manager role to lead a Residential Children's Home. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a therapeutic environment for vulnerable children and young people.

As the Registered Manager, you’ll work closely with the Responsible Individual to build an Ofsted compliant, nurturing home, where young people can receive outstanding care and thrive. From developing policies and setting up systems, to recruiting and inspiring a skilled care team, you’ll be instrumental in the day to day running of the home.

This position is for a manager who wants to move into operations management and help set up and look after other homes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Children’s Home, ensuring a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment.
  • Develop policies, procedures and systems in line with regulatory requirements and best practice.
  • Recruit, develop and supervise a skilled care team; promote a collaborative, participative management style.
  • Work with the Responsible Individual to ensure Ofsted compliance and high-quality care for young people.
  • Prepare and manage resources, ensuring effective ward and staff allocation and incident response.
What You Will Bring
  • Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Residential childcare (or equivalent); willing to start or have Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People's Social Care Manager).
  • Full driver's licence.
  • At least one successful recent Ofsted inspection as a Registered Manager in a children's home.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted standards and regulatory frameworks; a commitment to an anti-discriminatory, non-judgemental environment; an accessible, approachable and participative management style.
