As an Operations Manager based in our Melmerby Distribution Centre, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Direct responsibility for 4 Team Leaders and indirect responsible for 80 warehouse colleagues
  • Planning and organising the warehouse activities efficiently
  • Monitor staff performance and motivate to perform effectively against KPIs and SLAs
  • Ensure the team comply with H&S, IOSH and company policies and procedures
  • Investigate and resolve any issues that arise in a timely and effective manner
  • Identify and implement cost controls and savings initiatives

This is a full time permanent role working 37.50 hours a week, Monday to Friday 2.00pm - 10.00pm.

  • A full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential
  • NVQ Level 3 – Management or Equivalent
  • Sound Warehouse and Transport Experience
  • People Management and people development experience
  • Excellent Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation
  • Advanced Systems Knowledge – Thorough understanding of all transport and warehouse management systems
  • Budgetary Experience – Exposure to setting and implementing budgets
