Operations Coordinator Permanent St. Albans, Hertfordshire

Responsibilities
  • Organising the movement of cargo across Europe and the UK for both groupage and full trailer loads.
  • Communicating accurately in written and verbal form complex instructions to both Customers and Suppliers.
  • Providing the highest standards of Customer service.
  • Planning and communicating routes to our fleet of drivers.
  • Minimising ‘off route’ mileage to maximise operational efficiency.
  • Monitoring drivers’ duty and driving time to ensure compliance is correctly followed.
  • Processing customer orders through use of its own “in-house” operating system with an emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Compiling customs documentation to facilitate shipment of our client’s freight into Europe.
  • Building strong relationships with our clients, principally through verbal engagement.
  • Quoting transport rates to customers in order to gain orders.
  • Communicating with colleagues in different departments to ensure internal procedures are followed correctly.
  • Allocation of available resources (trucks, drivers, trailers) to meet clients demands.
