Mental Health Services in Doncaster have benefited from funding during 2019 and 2020. This investment has enabled us to expand our Hospital Liaison Mental Health Team. The Liaison Mental Health Service Model within Doncaster Royal Infirmary is part of NHS England’s “Achieving Better Access to 24/7 Urgent and Emergency Mental Health Care” Guidance.
Older adults with mental health problems are three times more likely to attend an Emergency Department, and five times more likely to be admitted to a general hospital as an emergency. Working within a Mental Health Liaison Team is an extremely essential and rewarding role.
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mental Health Nurse to join our Older Persons Hospital Liaison Team. To be successful, you must be able to work autonomously and have strong clinical and risk‑management skills.
We are looking for an RMN with experience with older adults or an interest in working with older adults. Part of the day‑to‑day role is to support general hospital wards with older people’s mental health, assessing, continuing care and planning a safe discharge.
