Occupational Therapist Disability Assessor

Carmarthen, Carmarthanshire (Sir Gaerfyrddin), Wales

Permanent – full time or part time available (Mon-Fri). Mixture of remote and assessment centre working.

Are you a qualified Occupational Therapist seeking a genuine work-life balance and a chance to thrive in a brand new healthcare environment, while utilising and developing your clinical skills?

As a Disability Assessor you will work autonomously to assess claimants applying for Work Capability (WCA) as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Service (HAAS). You will complete assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, with the opportunity to conduct some assessments remotely.

An in-depth, fully paid training programme is provided to prepare you for the role. This role counts towards clinical hours and helps maintain your registration.

Job responsibilities:

  • Use clinical experience to understand how health conditions affect daily life
  • Complete detailed, meaningful, and respectful assessments via telephone, video, or face-to-face
  • Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support DWP decision-making

Requirements:

  • We are seeking applicants who are Occupational Therapists
  • HCPC registration is required
  • At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience essential
  • Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and IT competency
