Part Time Nursery / Reception Teaching Assistant - Wakefield

Location : Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Contract Type : Temporary / Part Time – Monday to Friday AM’s Only

Start Date : 5th January 2026

Salary : £82.02-£95.00 Per Day

We are looking for a Nursery / Reception TA for mornings only, who can support young learners in their first years of education. This role is to start from January 2025 on a temporary / part time basis running into the Easter break 2026.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the classroom teacher and ensuring that young children receive the best possible start to their education. You will help to create an engaging, nurturing, and a stimulating environment where children can develop key skills in a safe and supportive setting.

Requirements
  • UK experience in Education
  • An enhanced DBS certificate (Child Workforce) registered with the update system or be willing to complete a new DBS application
  • Level 3 TA Qualification
  • Paediatric First Aid Training
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Have a solid understanding of EYFS settings including nursery and reception.
  • Be patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with both children and staff.
  • Have a proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning and managing different needs in the classroom.
