Responsibilities
  • Support the Nurse in Charge in the day‑to‑day running of the ward, providing both practical and emotional support to patients experiencing acute mental illness and distress.
  • Monitor babies’ welfare and development, and develop individualised care plans for them.
  • Run therapeutic and educational parent/infant groups on the ward.
  • Collaborate with the wider MDT to deliver individualised care to women and their babies.
  • Support team members in training staff on baby development and care.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Completed DBS check (initial cost borne by the employee; deducted from first salary).
  • Both COVID‑vaccinations required unless exempt (per the Health and Social Care Act 2008 amendment – Coronavirus).
  • Professional references with business contact information covering last three years of employment.
  • Experience as a Nursery Nurse, including perinatal care for mothers and babies.
  • Experience or willingness to work in a mental health setting.
  • Strong communication skills and capability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
