Are you a caring, flexible, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for supporting children in their early years? A warm and welcoming nursery in Longbenton is seeking a Nursery Assistant to work as cover across all age ranges within the setting.

Location: Longbenton
Start Date: ASAP
Position: Full-Time – Nursery Assistant (Cover Role)

About the Role:
  • Work flexibly across all rooms, supporting children from babies to preschool age
  • Assist with daily routines including feeding, nappy changes, toileting, sleep times, and play
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children
  • Support staff in delivering age-appropriate activities aligned with the EYFS framework
  • Build positive relationships with children, staff, and families
  • Adapt quickly to different age groups and room requirements
What We’re Looking For:
  • A Level 2 or 3 Early Years qualification (or working towards one) is desirable
  • Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting
  • A warm, responsive, and child-centred approach
  • Understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety procedures
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Flexibility and confidence working across different age groups

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
