An opportunity has arisen within the Anticoagulation team for a permanent post as a Band 6 Nurse Specialist. The team are based in Pathology at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and use the Dawn software to manage the patient caseload.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised nurse to provide telephone dosing advice to a range of patients, complying with national guidelines. You will be able to communicate effectively with the patient, their carers their GP and staff providing the clinical and laboratory services. A caring and patient disposition is essential.

Full training & development package can be offered

  • To provide a nurse‑led anticoagulation service to patients referred to Haematology.
  • To promote effective communication between the patient, the laboratory and the patients GP or referring clinician, ensuring the best possible care and advice is given to the patient.
  • Demonstrate specialist knowledge on all aspects of anti‑coagulation.
