Job description

Are you passionate about using your Critical Care experience/skills as the Lead Nurse to provide/support women requiring Enhanced Care. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Midwifery Team and will be responsible for the nurses within the clinical area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care for women in a safe and caring environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the designated midwifery team and wider multi‑disciplinary team to provide Enhanced Maternity Care (EMC) across the unit/labour ward and ward areas as required.
  • Provide advice, support and skills training to junior nursing staff in the delivery of high‑quality care actively supporting the midwifery team in the management of level 1 plus care.

Please note this is a cross‑site working role.

Key Requirements
  • Relevant post‑registration experience and a specialist qualification in Critical Care.
  • Experience of management, training, development and assessment.
  • Prepared to play a pivotal role in the development, empowerment, support and succession planning for our EMC service.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic and driven.
