As we continue to expand and strengthen our product suite, we are now looking for a highly experienced Non‑Executive Director (NED) who can support and challenge our leadership team as we move into our next phase of growth.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Non‑Executive Director to join the MCS board and help guide the strategic direction of the business.

This role is ideal for a senior leader who has held significant responsibilities in B2B vertical‑market software businesses, ideally involving SaaS, digital products, or industry‑specific platforms.

You will play a pivotal role in advising on strategy, governance, scalable operations, innovation opportunities, and potential partnerships or acquisitions that can accelerate our growth trajectory.

You’ll provide constructive challenge, offer independent perspective, and act as a trusted sounding board to the executive team while ensuring the highest levels of governance and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent advice, challenge, and insight to support board‑level decision‑making.
  • Contribute to the company’s vision, long‑term growth strategy, and governance framework.
  • Support the leadership team in identifying opportunities for product growth, scalable software expansion, partnerships, or potential M&A strategies.
  • Offer guidance on SaaS scaling, best practices for vertical‑market software, and operational excellence.
  • Act as a mentor and thought partner to senior executives within the business.
  • Leverage your industry network to open doors, create opportunities, and enhance our market position.
Essential Experience
  • Proven background as a Non‑Executive Director, board advisor, or senior executive within a software company, ideally a vertical‑market or B2B platform. The primary experience should be executive role in a B2B vertical market software product.
  • Track record of growing, scaling, or transforming SaaS or digital software businesses.
  • Experience contributing to strategic decisions, governance, commercial strategy, and long‑term planning.
  • Ability to add value in assessing acquisition opportunities, product roadmap decisions, and go‑to‑market scaling.
  • Strong communication skills, high integrity, and a collaborative leadership style.
Desirable
  • Prior involvement in M&A, investor‑backed growth, or private‑equity‑supported environments.
  • Strong network within the software, rental, or operational technology sector.
Working Pattern
  • This role requires a commitment of approximately 3–5 days per month, which includes attending board meetings, strategy sessions, and leadership engagements.
  • A minimum of 50% of this time should be spent onsite, which equates to approximately 2 in‑office days per month at our Maidenhead headquarters.
