Job description

We're looking for a 3‑kind, empathetic and resilient Night Support Worker to join our Mental Health Service in Kensington and Chelsea. RBKC MH Night Support Workers enable people with mental health support needs to manage their tenancies and live independent lives of their choosing in the community. Night Support Workers are responsible for ensuring continuity of a support service at night and for keeping customers and the building safe.

Working pattern:
Monday to Sunday – rolling rota

  • Week 1: Mon Tue Wed Thu 10 h each day
  • Week 2: Sun Mon Tue Wed 10 h each day
  • Week 3: Sat Sun Mon Tue 10 h each day
  • Week 4: Fri Sat Sun Mon 10 h each day
What you'll do
  • Build supportive, trusting relationships with customers and create a positive atmosphere
  • Work proactively with other team members to manage the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
  • Conduct key work sessions as required that are innovative and engaging to achieve Support Plan goals
  • Ensure ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers with a positive risk‑taking attitude
  • Support customers and colleagues during incidents calmly and professionally, following policies, procedures, escalation protocols and incident‑report completion
  • Provide support with daily living activities, including practical assistance to help customers live independently – budgeting, cooking, establishing a night‑time routine
  • Maintain a healthy environment for customers and, where appropriate, assist them to clean their accommodation and maintain good personal hygiene
