Job summary

A leading waste management firm in Greater London is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a night shift role at their Barking Transfer Station. The candidate will be responsible for executing planned maintenance, addressing breakdowns, and supporting engineering processes. Required qualifications include mechanical or electrical engineering background along with experience in handling mechanical equipment and PLC systems. Strong communication skills and a team player mentality are essential for success in this role. Flexibility with working hours is needed as well.

Qualifications

  • Technically qualified with proven experience in a similar environment.
  • Flexible and able to work well and quickly under pressure.
  • Holds a full, valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the planned preventative maintenance programmes (PPM) timely and to a high standard.
  • Work in accordance with Cory procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Carry out mechanical & electrical tests as required.

Mechanical engineering background - City & Guilds Level 3 or above
