Job description
Overview

Are you a calm, capable leader who thrives in the quiet hours? We are looking for a dedicated Night Manager to take the lead in overseeing Hotel Services across our hospital sites during the night shift. This vital role ensures our services run smoothly and safely while most of the world sleeps.

You will be the go-to person for operational coordination, staff support, and service delivery—working closely with clinical teams to respond to requests and maintain high standards of care and safety. Shift Pattern: Wednesday to Sunday, 10:30pm – 7:00am (including 1-hour break).

You will bring solid experience in facilities, hotel services, or healthcare operations—ideally with a background in supervision or management. You are someone who thrives under pressure, stays calm and clear-headed, and makes confident decisions independently. Organised and proactive, you know how to keep things running smoothly even when challenges arise.

A key part of your role will be working closely with the A&E departments at both St Mary’s and Charing Cross Hospitals, responding to urgent service needs and supporting clinical teams to deliver timely, effective care. A valid UK driving licence is essential, as you will be travelling between sites to stay connected with teams and services. Above all, you are passionate about delivering high standards and continuously improving the way services support patient care.

Further details of the role include rotation across multiple sites and ongoing collaboration with Service Managers to align with evolving service needs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Hotel Services operations across multiple hospital sites during night shifts, namely:
  • Charing Cross Hospital
  • Hammersmith Hospital
  • Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Maternity Hospital
  • St Mary’s Hospital
  • Western Eye Hospital
  • Ensure staff attendance, safe use of equipment, and compliance with health and safety procedures.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to service requests from clinical teams.
  • Attend one-day shift per month on a rotational basis to visit different sites, meet with Service Managers, and stay aligned with evolving service needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Solid experience in facilities, hotel services, or healthcare operations, ideally with a background in supervision or management.
  • Ability to work under pressure with calm, clear decision-making and proactive problem-solving.
  • A valid UK driving licence is essential for travel between sites.
  • Committed to delivering high standards and continuous improvement in service delivery to support patient care.
Benefits and Opportunities
  • Career development, flexible working and wellbeing programs.
  • Staff recognition scheme. Optional benefits include Cycle to Work, car lease schemes, season ticket loans, or onsite leisure facilities.
  • We are committed to equal opportunities and supporting flexible, part-time, or job-share arrangements; discuss at interview.
