Job Details

Salary: £26,592 – £29,838 (per annum)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Ellesmere Port Campus

About the Role

Do you enjoy using your technical knowledge to support others? We are looking for a Network Technician to join us at our Crewe campus. Both our proactive and reactive work are vital to the running of the College. We work on large‑scale projects as well as supporting colleagues with day‑to‑day technical issues.

Technical and Personal Skills
  • Install, maintain and repair systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and implement solutions.
  • Conduct inventory audits.
  • Prioritise effectively.
  • Communicate positively.
  • Have a keen eye for detail.
Background
  • IT‑based qualification.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • Understanding of working in Education.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair IT systems and equipment (hardware, peripherals and software) to ensure they are functioning effectively, in accordance with agreed service standards.
  • Install IT equipment and software to meet user needs.
  • Identify persistent and potential problems and suggest and implement solutions.
  • Assist with the inventory audits of equipment and software.
  • Assist in the development and technical support of the technology infrastructure for both voice and data.
  • Promote the welfare of children and young people.
Key Person Specification Requirements
  • GCSE Grade C (4/5) or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learning environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Appropriate level of digital literacy.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
