Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Network Engineer for a public sector opportunity in London. You will conduct network audits, review designs, and oversee data center installations. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of DC network design experience, holds Cisco qualifications, and possesses a UK driving license. This role offers a pay rate of £475 per day for an interim contract until February 2026.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in DC network design and similar infrastructure roles.
  • Experience in DC design, implementation and data migration projects.
  • Must hold a Cisco CCNA qualification.
  • Must hold a Cisco CCNP Data Centre Expert or Professional qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct existing network audits.
  • Review new network designs.
  • Perform BOM reviews.
  • Install, configure, and test new DC setups.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Proactively monitor environments to prevent issues.
  • Support and mentor team members.

Role: Network Engineer
Contract Length: Until February 2026
Location: London
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: £475 per day
Security Clearance: DV and STRAP requested

Spinwell is recruiting for a Network Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

Responsibilities
  • Existing Network Audit.
  • New Network Design Review.
  • BOM Review.
  • New DC Install, Configuration and Test.
  • Ensure personal workload is effectively managed, prioritised and issues are escalated to line management as necessary.
  • Ensure Adherence to required polices, standards, controls and best practice
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to ensure all services are maintained and knowledge is shared
  • Proactively maintain and update the infrastructure to ensure security and reliability
  • Proactively monitor environments to help prevent issues arising
  • Ensure security procedures are followed, to comply with the relevant accreditation, procedures and/or guidance.
  • Support and mentoring of other members of the team to build a strong support service.
Skills/Experience
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience within demonstrable roles developing DC network design(s) and implementation(s) or similar infrastructure engineering role(s).
  • Previous in depth experience and demonstrable role(s) solely relating to DC design, implementation and data migration projects.
  • Comprehensive experience with:-
    • Cisco Enterprise Catalysts, Switches, Routers, Firewalls.
    • Juniper Routers
    • Fortinet Firewalls
    • Cisco network to HPE server integration
    • Must hold a Cisco CCNA qualification.
  • Must hold a Cisco CCNP Data Centre Expert or Professional and one of the concentration qualifications (DCID, DCIT, DCACI, DCACIA, DCAUTO) preferably DCACI.
  • Full UK driving license required.
