Overview

Job Title: Multiskilled Maintenance Technician (Electrical Bias)

This role ensures the smooth operation and maintenance of equipment within the Engineering & Manufacturing department. It involves proactive and reactive maintenance across production and service equipment, and the calibration and maintenance of site instrumentation to meet regulatory and safety standards. The role also requires accurate maintenance and calibration records and collaboration with engineering colleagues to drive efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Employment Details: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Fixed term – 18 month contract.

Responsibilities
  • Perform proactive and reactive maintenance across production and service equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Calibrate and maintain site instrumentation to meet regulatory and safety standards.
  • Ensure all maintenance and calibration records are accurate and audit-ready.
  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues to drive efficiency and reliability.
  • Participate in audits and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment (chemical, pharma, or similar).
  • Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems, LV switchgear, VSDs, and safety systems.
  • Understanding of regulatory and statutory engineering requirements.
  • CompEx or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • Experience with SAP PM or similar maintenance management systems.
