Job description

Title: Multiskilled Engineer

Location: Kings Lynn Area
Salary: £43,000
Shift Pattern: 42 hours per week (average), working 4 x 12-hour shifts on a 4-on / 4-off dayshift rotation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join a busy milling operation during a period of significant growth. You’ll play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

As an Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all plant equipment to support the effective operation of the mill’s production and intake systems. Your goal will be to minimise downtime, respond swiftly to breakdowns, and ensure all engineering tasks are delivered safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems
  • Identifying issues promptly and working with the mill team to resolve breakdowns
  • Driving continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and performance
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records to ensure legal compliance
  • Managing engineering resources, materials, and supplier relationships

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in both mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Minimum 17th Edition certification
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced production environment, ideally within food or drink manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of safety processes, quality standards, and KPIs
  • Proven ability to deliver both short-term fixes and long-term engineering improvements
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to working safely
