Job description

An opportunity for a multi-skilled field service engineer is available with my client who are a leading recycling machinery manufacturer. Their ideal candidate will be multi-skilled and have a proven service or maintenance background on heavy plant. The role will require on average 2-3 nights away from home per week.

Multi-skilled Service Engineer role

• Customer site visits, diagnosing mechanical & electrical faults and fixing industrial recycling machinery.
• Inspections and servicing of shredders and recycling machinery.
• Installing and commissioning recycling machinery newly delivered to customers.
• Providing basic recycling operation and maintenance training to customer operators to ensure their ability to use recycling machinery safely and effectively.
• 2-3 nights away from home on average
• Weekend work may be required and, on a rota basis.

Multi-skilled Service Engineer requirements

• Knowledge of heavy plant will be essential, and previous experience with recycling machinery shredders, crushers and screeners advantageous.
• Apprentice trained Electrical / Mechanical Engineer (Multi- Skilled)
• Single or 3 phase Electrical qualifications or experience is essential.
• Electrical and mechanical diagnostics to repair machinery faults.
• Worked with gearboxes and bearings.
• Experience Installing and commissioning industrial machinery.
• Full UK driving licence

Multi-skilled Service Engineer package

• Salary dependent on experience £40k - £42k base + overtime
• 40 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and Friday 8am-3:30pm (45 mins daily lunch break)
• 22 days holiday + bank hols including bank holidays rising to 26 after 4 years' service
