Job Description:

Role: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Shift: 4 on 4 off
Pay: £53,000 per annum
Location: Shepton Mallet

Are you a recently qualified or experienced Maintenance Engineer seeking a role in a busy, high-tech manufacturing environment? We are collaborating with a reputable manufacturer that combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology to produce millions of units annually. Due to ongoing growth, they are expanding their maintenance team.

This role offers the chance to join a forward-thinking engineering department in a dynamic, hands-on position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair faults on production and process equipment
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Work with PLCs (I/O), inverters, heating elements, servo motors, sensors, etc.
  • Maintain conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, shafts, tensioners, bearings
  • Support maintenance of high-speed packing lines, fillers, pasteurisers, and inspection systems
  • Complete and improve PPM routines to meet OEE targets
  • Document maintenance activities accurately
  • Assist with site projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Experience:

  • Time-served or fully qualified engineer (City & Guilds / HNC / HND or similar)
  • Proficient in fault finding on PLC-controlled equipment (Siemens / Allen Bradley beneficial)
  • Experience working with motors, pumps, conveyors, and gear systems
  • Preferred experience in FMCG or food/drinks manufacturing
  • Additional skills such as welding, turning, or milling are advantageous
