The Role: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge? This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading UK manufacturer that continues to invest heavily in cutting-edge production technology and innovation.

Based at their modern manufacturing facility in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, this is a permanent position working on a Panama shift pattern covering days and nights. You’ll be joining a skilled, supportive engineering team within a business known for its stability, strong safety culture, and commitment to employee development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure continuous production through proactive maintenance and fault finding
  • Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site
Skills / Experience
  • Apprentice-trained or time‑served in a similar role, ideally with electrical qualifications (e.g. C&G, ONC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Solid mechanical knowledge with proven electrical competence
  • Understanding of IEE 18th Edition wiring regulations
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental best practice
  • Proven experience maintaining and fault‑finding on a range of industrial plant and equipment
  • Excellent communication skills and a practical, hands‑on approach
Salary & Working Hours
  • £57,000 per annum
  • 3s and 2s Panama shift pattern – rotating days and nights
  • Average 42 hours per week, Monday to Sunday
