About the role:

As an MRI/CT Radiographer, you will work in clinical and service development to ensure patient care is planned, delivered, and evaluated according to evidence-based practices. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and maintain a robust service.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Assess the clinical justification of radiography referrals and act as an operator under IRMER (2000)
  • Advise imaging referrers and patients regarding referrals
  • Acquire diagnostic images and position patients appropriately
  • Operate advanced radiological software and equipment
  • Organize and prioritize departmental workflow
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and professional conduct
  • Participate in CPD programs
  • Review images and collaborate with radiologists on additional imaging needs
  • Utilize technical applications on imaging equipment
  • Perform intravenous cannulation and contrast injections after training
  • Coordinate with other hospital departments and external sources
  • Adapt to service, patient, or departmental changes
  • Troubleshoot equipment faults and ensure service continuity

Candidate requirements:

  • Diploma of the College of Radiographers or BSc Hons
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Certificate of Competence in CT/MRI
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Radiation Protection Certificate
  • Decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and accurately
  • Presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others
