A veterinary practice in Scotland is seeking a mixed vet to join their friendly team. You will work with a varied caseload of both small and large animals. The role offers a modern working environment, CPD opportunities, and a competitive salary ranging from £40k to £55k based on experience. Interested candidates should email or call for more details.
Are you a mixed vet looking for a friendly team in a beautiful area of Scotland?
We are a truly mixed, long-established, independent practice in well equipped, modern premises. We have mountains, lochs and sea nearby so this is an ideal area for outdoor enthusiasts, but we are also adjacent to major road and rail networks, only an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh.
We are looking for someone with experience in mixed practice who wants to work within a supportive team of 5.5 vets, 5 fabulous RVNs, our friendly, caring reception team and all our own wonderful canine assistants!
Our varied case load is genuinely mixed, 50% small animal and 50% large animal. The large animal work includes several progressive dairy farms, pedigree and commercial beef cattle, pedigree and commercial sheep plus a few small holdings. Minimal OV work involved in the role. Our equine work is predominantly pleasure horses and is a relatively small proportion of our case load.
We have some great kit to make life easier; digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, a dental suite with dental X-ray, full in‑house lab including Sedivue urinalysis. We have separate dog and cat wards and are ISFM gold standard.
Our large animal side has a dedicated room for ewe caesars and the occasional calf, lamb or kid op. We have four Easi‑scan rectal scanners, bull and tup semen testing probes and an Ovacyte kit for FEC samples.
Our equally shared on call rota is one full weekend in 5 and 1 night per week, with a long weekend off every 5 weeks.
Our standard working week is 4.5 days with 6.2 weeks holiday per year.
