A leading e-commerce company is looking for a Process Control Specialist to optimize fulfilment operations at its Tilbury Fulfillment Centre. The role involves managing workflow planning and cost management while ensuring seamless operations. Candidates should have problem-solving skills and excellent communication capabilities. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of e-commerce fulfilment.
Description
Shape the future of global e-commerce as a Process Control Specialist (PCS) at Amazon's European Central Flow Team, where you'll orchestrate millions of daily orders and innovate advanced fulfilment solutions. We're revolutionizing how the world shops, supporting a vast network of Fulfilment Centres (FCs) operating 24/7 worldwide. As the primary escalation point for our warehouses and the crucial link between millions of daily orders and our dedicated Amazon Associates, the PCS ensures seamless fulfilment operations.
In this critical position, you'll drive Amazon Europe\'s workflow planning, risk mitigation, and cost and capacity management. Collaborating directly with FC partners, you'll provide guidance, identify and rectify workflow variances, and actively manage the journey of millions of customer orders from checkout to shipment. Our onboarding process equips you with the necessary knowledge, while our matrix structure empowers you to deliver, innovate, create, and grow. We seek problem-solvers with a keen eye for optimization opportunities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to navigate tasks while communicating effectively across all organizational levels. Your curiosity will drive you to explore the intricate web of systems that power our operations, understanding their interdependencies and interactions. Join us in this dynamic role and help shape the future of e-commerce fulfilment at Amazon.
The European Central Flow Team (ECFT) is the beating heart of Amazon\'s Fulfilment Centres. We embody the Day 1 spirit, leveraging 24/7 communication and deep expertise to drive continuous innovation, standardization, and improvement across our FC network. Our core mission revolves around capacity, risk, and workflow management, with a focus on real-time responsiveness and resource planning to ensure customer promises are kept and deliveries arrive on time, every time.
At Amazon\'s European Central Flow Team (ECFT), Process Control Specialists synchronize their schedules with Fulfillment Center partners, embracing a 4x10 work week. Operating from the LCY Tilbury office, team members work either Sunday-to-Wednesday or Wednesday-to-Saturday shifts, covering both day and night operations. This schedule aligns with FC operations and provides a 3-day weekend each week. Wednesdays serve as an overlap day, where half the team alternates focus between ongoing operations and dedicated time for projects, professional growth, training, and analyses.
Typical activities include assessing current state, analyzing order volumes and workstream distributions, and comparing real-time data against network-wide metrics and plans. Using proprietary systems, we craft dynamic staffing plans, determine optimal associate placement and timing, and refine plans with FC management as orders flow and variables shift. We employ an adaptive approach to maintain control amid fluctuating demand. When volumes surge, we modulate inflow or redistribute workload; as capacity limits approach, we reschedule orders to uphold customer promises and prevent late deliveries.
In the event of disruptions such as conveyor malfunctions, weather events, or software glitches, the PCS team responds rapidly with mitigation strategies and robust contingency plans. We mobilize cross-functional partnerships, facilitate swift communication, and consolidate critical information to resolve issues efficiently, maintaining customer focus and operational excellence.
The European Central Flow Team (ECFT), a vital component of PE, drives continuous innovation, standardization, and improvement across FC networks through real-time responsiveness and resource planning to keep customer promises and ensure timely deliveries. We focus on capacity, risk, and workflow management and emphasize collaboration and frontline insights to drive meaningful innovations.
We are not just optimizing operations—we are reinventing the future of fulfilment. We collaborate with multiple stakeholder teams to identify high-impact opportunities and scale innovations across the FC network. We combine hard data with frontline insights to drive metrics, workflows, and process paths, aiming to increase availability, speed, and efficiency while reducing costs. Join ECFT to be at the forefront of optimizing Amazon\'s global fulfilment operations and delivering smiles to millions of customers.
