Metadata Manager, Europeana Sounds project at British Library

Europeana Sounds is a EC-funded project that will improve the discovery of and access to Europe’s rich digital sound and music collections by enriching metadata and doubling the number of sounds and audio-related digital items on the Europeana web portal.

The British Library is seeking an experienced Metadata Manager to lead the management of a key project work package, ensuring aggregation of 0.75 million metadata records for digitised sound and audio related digital objects from 18 partner institutions across Europe.

Responsibilities include managing large-scale projects, working with metadata standards and structured data, and experience with copyright and licensing of digital assets. Advantageous skills include project management, international programme working, knowledge of a second European language, and familiarity with the Europeana Data Model.

The successful candidate will be based at the British Library’s London offices and will work on a fixed-term contract to 1st February 2017. Salary is £38,891 per annum.
