SEN Mentor – Tameside

Overview

Prospero Teaching seeks experienced educators to deliver 1:1 tuition for children with a range of Special Educational Needs or Behavioural needs. This role offers the chance to step away from the classroom and provide personalised, engaging lessons.

Responsibilities

You will create, plan and deliver tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupils’ education, boost engagement and attainment, and re‑engage learners who may have been out of education for some time.

Contract Details
  • Location: Tameside
  • Position: SEN Mentor
  • Type of work: Contract (Temporary)
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: Dependent on each student (short‑term)
  • Full time/Part time: Available both full time and part time depending on availability
  • Rate of pay: £25–£30 per hour
  • Hours: Minimum 1 hour per session, maximum 3 hours per session
Training and Qualifications
  • QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
  • 6+ months experience working in a UK school
  • Up‑to‑date safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience working with SEN or similar
Eligibility Criteria
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child‑related references covering the last two years
