About The Role

Venture-People offer outreach support and housing solutions to individuals with a mental health need, maximizing their independence with the right support at the right time. We work in a person-centred and recovery focused approach, steeped in therapeutic optimism.

We are looking for Recovery Workers who will make up a growing team within Mid Sussex and the surrounding areas.

Excellent support from experienced management and the wider clinical leadership team and a chance to get involved in this exciting service from the ground up.

Responsibilities And Duties

Your role will be delivering quality support that enables people to achieve their outcomes by using and developing person-centred support plans. You will be able to manage risks and vulnerabilities whilst promoting social inclusion and maximising the opportunities for the people you support.

You should have an enthusiasm and interest in working within the mental health sector with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a willingness to go the extra mile. You should have a flexible approach that respects individual differences with an ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, using your initiative.

Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience, ideally Mental Health/LD/Neurodiverse support.
  • Ability to positively address and challenge inappropriate or negative behaviours and attitudes.
  • Experience of using therapeutic de-escalation and/or crisis intervention techniques.
  • Able to respond to changes in an individuals needs and meet deadlines.
  • To encourage and manage participation and involvement from the people we support.
  • Computer literate, with confidence in using all Microsoft office programmes
Desired Skills

It would be desirable for you to have had experience supporting a person(s) with a mental health condition and within a community-based service.
