Mental Health Nurse / Social Worker / Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Lancaster and Morecambe Community Mental Health Team. The successful candidates will work with service users who have a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) who are currently on CMHT caseloads. You will deliver Structured Clinical Management (SCM) to a caseload of service users within the community setting. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements are available upon discussion with the team.

SCM is recognised as the gold standard of care for people with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD). It is evidenced based and in line with NICE guidelines. SCM has been selected by the trust as the approach to implement within the personality disorder pathway. This is an exciting opportunity for you to develop specific skills in line with evidence based treatment and be involved in providing support for service users to recover, develop autonomy and no longer require secondary mental health services.

Main duties of the job
  1. Working for the local CMHT, clinically supervised by the Specialist Practitioners in Personality Disorder, you will provide high quality interventions for service users with complex emotional and relational needs who have a diagnosis/present with difficulties associated with the diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD).
  2. You will be aligned to work within a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) providing Structured Clinical Management (SCM) for a caseload of service users. You will facilitate and lead groups to support the recovery of service users.
  3. Promote positive attitudes towards service users with complex emotional needs by providing a responsive and non-stigmatising service, which will enhance inclusion and deliver better outcomes.
  4. To undertake mental health assessments including risk assessments and be proficient in referring to other clinicians within the service or referring to other services/agencies where necessary.
  5. Providing a communication structure between GP's, IAPT and secondary MH services in LSCFT, non-statutory service to ensure the highest possible standards of patient care.
  6. To provide advice and support for the CMHT Multidisciplinary Team to deliver the highest standards of care for service users with a diagnosis of EUPD. This may include joint working at times.
