Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Retina Virtual Image Reporter to join our team at the Eye Centre, Pinderfields Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality ophthalmic care through advanced image reporting and grading.

As part of our Ophthalmology service, you will work independently under the supervision of the Clinical Lead and Patient Service Manager to assess and report ophthalmic images in line with national and local protocols. Your expertise will be crucial in detecting sight‑threatening eye conditions, ensuring timely referrals, and supporting patient safety and outcomes.

Main duties of the job
  • Perform high-level image grading and reporting, including diabetic eye disease and other retinal conditions.
  • Provide quality assurance and lead audits to maintain national standards.
  • Act as a resource for healthcare professionals, offering guidance and support.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and research initiatives.
