A healthcare provider in Salisbury is seeking full-time laboratory assistants to support the Blood Sciences laboratory. Responsibilities include data input, assisting medical staff, and maintaining competency in laboratory procedures. Candidates should possess GCSEs in English and Maths, and previous laboratory experience is desirable. The Laboratory Medicine department currently has a vacancy for two laboratory assistants. We are looking for a friendly and cheerful person, who is practical and has an interest in science. The role involves various duties in the Specimen Reception area of the Blood Sciences laboratory.
The role is full time 37.5 hours per week. Following an appropriate period of training, the post-holder will be required to undertake participation in the shift system including weekend and bank holiday rotas.
The post-holder will be supported with training as required for the post and will be part of a support team and required to maintain competency in all relevant areas of the laboratory. Previous medical laboratory experience would be desirable, but full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be literate, numerate and have excellent keyboard skills.
The MLA team assists the medical and scientific staff in the general running of the department by performing a range of basic laboratory functions and data input to help deliver a service that enables high standards of patient care.
