A leading healthcare system in Glasgow is seeking a candidate for a 2-year renewable post in cancer clinical research. You will process and manage research samples under the guidance of senior staff. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 Higher subjects at Grade C, including Chemistry or Biology, and possess good communication and teamwork skills. This role offers valuable experience in a clinical environment.

The shift pattern for this post is: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
This is a Fixed term post for: 2 years renewable contract
The post will be based in the Beatson Clinical Research Facility which is an NHS facility supporting cancer clinical research across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The post holder will work on a range of Phase 1 to Phase III cancer trials that the BCRF participates in. Main duties of the post will involve processing of research samples following trial manuals, storage of samples, logging chain of custody and shipping of samples. This will be under the supervision of the senior research nurses.
Applications are requested from candidates with 3 Higher subjects at Grade C or above, which should include either Chemistry or Biology together with Maths or SVQ3 in relevant science subject or completion of equivalent accredited education. Previous lab experience is desirable. The candidate should have the ability to work as part of a team in a busy clinical area and possess good verbal communication skills. Evidence of good numeracy and literacy skills is required along with basic computer knowledge.
