Job summary

Job responsibilities

The Medical Engineering Department offers a vital technical service that includes all aspects of medical equipment management, which ranges from installation, maintenance, and disposal. The postholder is required to carry out acceptance testing, electrical safety testing, planned maintenance and repairs on equipment maintained by the Medical Engineering department. The postholder may be required to work without supervision on their own initiative following departmental procedures and acting within their level of knowledge and experience.

Person Specification
Experience
  • Experience in the field of medical equipment / electronic equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge and experience of using engineering tools and test equipment
Qualifications
  • Degree / qualification or an equivalent level of knowledge, in engineering or science.
  • Aware of electrical safety testing techniques and standards.
Role Specific
  • Experience of using IT equipment and software including Microsoft Office to produce reports.
  • Experience of working within a quality management system e.g., ISO 9001, 13485
