Overview

Imperial College London (Multiple Sites)

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days & Nights) 8AM - 8PM / 8PM – 8AM

Competitive salary plus £2750 Shift Allowance

We are currently seeking an experienced Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) to join our dedicated team supporting the prestigious Imperial College London contract. This is a critical shift-based role responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across a broad mechanical infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing
  • Conducting PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems (pumps, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, boilers, calorifiers, compressors, etc.)
  • Attending to plumbing-related callouts (e.g. leaks, toilet blockages, tap replacements)
  • Carrying out emergency lighting testing and other safety-critical checks
  • Using CAFM systems (handheld device, tablet, or phone) for task management and reporting
  • Identifying and addressing faults proactively
  • Escorting and overseeing specialist subcontractors
  • Maintaining clear communication with clients and site management
  • Ensuring compliance with H&S protocols at all times
What we’re looking for
  • Level 2 Mechanical qualification (Level 3 desirable – C&G, NVQ, etc.)
  • Proven HVAC experience
  • Background in maintaining large commercial buildings (hospital experience is a plus)
  • Strong multi-skilled engineering ability
  • Confident using electronic devices and CAFM systems
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Team player with a proactive and safety-first approach
