Responsibilities

Support & deliver complex tolerance analysis activities across the Mechanical Engineering Function for the next generation of missile. The role requires a motivated, enthusiastic and driven individual to support the evolution of GD&T and tolerance analysis within the design process.

Working with highly skilled design engineers during all stages of development across a dynamic multi project landscape.

High performing teams need high performing and highly competent individuals. To be suitable for this role, candidates will be able to demonstrate a number of the following attributes:

Qualifications
  • Ideally HND/HNC/Degree qualified with experience in geometrical variation analysis and/or functional application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing principles (GD&T)
  • Fundamental knowledge of mechanical design, complex mechanical assemblies and definition standards for component manufacture and assembly.
  • Ability to operate across the Mechanical Engineering function to provide technical support to individuals/groups and drive improvements and knowledge share.
  • An agile & adaptable mindset towards problem solving and task management with a positive, proactive and open approach towards people and work
  • Knowledge of 1D/2D calculations & 3D model‑based tolerance analysis (Exposure to analysis software such as CETOL 6σ would be an advantage)
  • Fundamental knowledge of applicable standards & processes, including BS8888 & ISO GPS
  • Ideally a motivated self‑starter with a passion for GD&T & Geometric Variation Analysis, with proven track record in report writing and presenting
  • Proficient with 3D CAD Software (e.g. Creo Parametric)
  • Experience in high precision engineering/manufacturing/quality environment
  • Knowledge of SPC and data analysis
  • Knowledge of MBD & associated tools would be an advantage

Salary & Offerings

Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience.

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on‑site, may be more depending on workload classification.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
