A leading waste management company is seeking a Technical Plant Engineer to provide mechanical expertise for Energy from Waste facilities. The role involves delivering technical support during complex breakdowns, enhancing processes, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Candidates should have a relevant engineering degree, project management experience, and ideally hold or be pursuing Chartered Engineer status. The position requires frequent travel and overnight stays, offering a chance to contribute to sustainability initiatives.
As a Technical Plant Engineer within the SUEZ R&R UK Technical Team, you will be the go‑to mechanical expert for our Energy from Waste (EfW) facilities, providing specialised technical support on complex breakdowns, process optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The more efficiently our Energy Recovery sites operate, the greater the benefits for the environment and our business. You will deliver engineering expertise in operations, maintenance, and improvement projects, supporting Plant Managers, Operations Managers, and on‑site technical teams. This includes assisting with breakdown recovery, delivering optimisation and continuous improvement projects, conducting detailed process analysis to drive changes, and ensuring compliance with legislation, industry standards, best practice, and company Asset Management Standards.
Chartered Engineer status is desired, or we welcome candidates actively working towards it.
This role will require frequent travel with some overnight stays.
