About The Role

Engineer – Mechanical (Authorised Person – Pressure Systems)

Farnborough (Static Site) | £50,000–£55,000 | Full-Time, Permanent

Atlas Workplace Services is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as an Authorised Person (AP) – Pressure Systems . This is a static site role located near Farnborough , ideal for candidates living within 60 minutes of the site .

In this critical role, you’ll lead the mechanical maintenance function, ensuring safe and compliant delivery of planned and reactive works. You’ll be responsible for overseeing pressure systems, issuing permits, and maintaining high standards of service in line with statutory and contractual SLAs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Authorised Person – Pressure Systems , overseeing isolation and certification of mechanical systems.
  • Lead the delivery of PPM and reactive maintenance across the site.
  • Ensure compliance with AWSL policies, safety rules, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate records using the Maximo CAFM system via tablet.
  • Produce risk assessments, safety programmes, and statements of isolation.
  • Liaise with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Take ownership of site performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in the on‑call rota and manage emergency response when required.
Essential Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Building Services
  • AP11 or equivalent Authorised Person qualification for Mechanical Systems
  • Legionella (L8) trained and competent
  • Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Qualifications
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Apprentice-trained in M&E discipline
  • Commercial Gas and F-Gas qualifications
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar multi‑site or multi‑discipline environment
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC , BMS , and building services plant
  • Experience with MAXIMO or similar CAFM systems
  • Ability to manage priorities and deliver under pressure
  • Understanding of LOTO procedures , risk management, and safety legislation
  • Experience in a customer‑facing outsourcing environment
