Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Westminster is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design solutions for innovative building services projects. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure clients' satisfaction and project profitability. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Building Services Engineering and at least five years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on sustainable and zero carbon design.

Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work in a team focussed around decarbonisation, and to play a leading role in ensuring the successful delivery of innovative mechanical design solutions for some of the most exciting building projects in London and internationally.

You will work in a team of expert engineers and technicians, and work closely with colleagues of various disciplines to manage the delivery of technically-excellent, profitable projects for high profile public and private clients.

You will assist in developing new and nurturing existing client relationships that maximise satisfaction and ensure repeat business and will use your expertise and determination to manage, motivate and inspire less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to the delivery of mechanical design solutions for building services projects in London and internationally.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure technically excellent and profitable project outcomes for high profile clients.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to maximise satisfaction and secure repeat business.
  • Manage, motivate and mentor less experienced engineers to support project delivery.
  • Work in a BIM/REVIT 3D environment and contribute to creative, zero carbon sustainable and intuitive design.
  • Experience with thermal modelling packages such as DesignBuilder is desirable.
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level in Building Services Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a Mechanical Engineering role within a building services context (ventilation, cooling and air conditioning, heating systems, etc.).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead less experienced engineers to exceed client expectations.
  • Sound knowledge of working in a BIM/REVIT 3D environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in creative, zero carbon sustainable and intuitive design.
  • Exposure to, or experience with, thermal modelling packages such as DesignBuilder is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills are essential.
