What You Will Be Doing

You will be responsible for the creation of component/assembly/systems designs and associated through‑life justification that meet their requirements and product attributes of life cost, availability and safety margins.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Create solutions and justifications that are robust against variation taking account of the full life cycle (concept, design, manufacture, operation and disposal).
  • Integrate cross‑discipline engineering concepts which include manufacturing engineering, simulation, materials testing and supply chain.
  • Document and verify information against sound mechanical engineering practices and references.
  • Present evidence at technical reviews in front of peers and expert panels.
  • Publish safety and technical reports which are subjected to customer and regulatory scrutiny.
Who We Are Looking For

  • Ideally you will have experience in one of the above disciplines, although this does not need to be limited to submarines.
  • It is preferable you are Degree‑qualified or Apprentice‑trained in a relevant engineering discipline; however, experience is equally beneficial.
  • External skills/experience can be from industries such as Civil Nuclear, Marine, Petro‑Chemical and Oil & Gas.
